Irie qualifies for 200 backstroke final at world championships

ROME, Italy - Ryosuke Irie of Japan competes in the men's 200-meter backstroke semifinal at the world swimming championships in Rome on July 30. Irie touched in 1 minute, 54.14 seconds, 0.08 behind world record holder Aaron Peirsol of the United States, for a spot in the final.
